My Dad put up Christmas lights in April of 1999. In about May of that year I asked my Dad when we were taking our lights down. Growing up I never saw anyone with Christmas lights up in the summer, so I thought our lights would come down... not so. My Dad told me that our Christmas lights were securely stapled in place-they weren't going anywhere. Christmas lights year round... sounds silly to some, but it's quite common to see houses in Surrey lit up on random days throughout the year. Fortunately we didn't invest in the lights that look like icicles. People will turn their Christmas lights on for vaisakhi, lohri, diwali, someones birthday, weddings... pretty much anything. Our Christmas lights are on tonight for Sri Guru Nanak Dev Ji's Gurpurab.
