Hospital refuses to admit son with maggots

MAGGOTS were crawling inside his son’s mouth but doctors refused to hospitalise his son.

Yu Hong Di, 58, from Bukit Pelanduk, Negri Sembilan, recalled this when he tried to seek medical help for his 24-year-old son, Bao Qing, several days ago...

Bao Qing slipped into a vegetative state after suffering from Japanese Encephalitis in 1999.

Several days ago, blood began oozing out from Bao Qing's mouth and when Yu took a closer look, he found maggots crawling inside.

He called a doctor who later wrote a reference letter for Bao Qing to be admitted to Seremban Hospital.

The hospital refused to admit him and despite him begging, doctors claimed that Bao Qing's condition did not require him to be hospitalised...

When Bao Qing's condition did not improve, Yu brought him to Seremban Hospital again but once more, he was refused admission.

“They just applied medicine on the sores inside his mouth but now, there are three sores with maggots inside and the sores are growing bigger.

“I caught as many as eight maggots and the condition is worsening,” he said.

Chuah State Assemblyman Foo Ming Chee later arranged for Bao Qing to be admitted into the Port Dickson Hospital.
