loners...
One time in a Marketing class we were doing a case study on a particular funeral home, and how they chose to advertise. The instructor asked the class who we thought the funeral home was targeting. For a while, no one said anything. I raised my hand and asked "People who have no family or friends?"
"Correct" said the instructor.
Just imagine that. An adult with no one in their life. What must it feel like to pick up a flyer advertising cremation services, and then realize that this is something you have to plan yourself?
Last week I was talking to a lady, and she told me about an old neighbor. This neighbor was in her 80s and immigrated to Canada with her husband years ago. Her husband has died, and the only family she has is still back home. She has a few friends, like the lady I was talking to, but no one that can take care of her. There might be a lot of "loners" out there. It's possible that these unidentified, unclaimed bodies were of people with no friends or family. I think it's pretty unfortunate.
